Sapian SK Fed prexy laid to rest
ROXAS CITY – Sapian Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation President and concurrent ex-officio member of Sangguniang Bayan (SB) Paul Azi Olete Perono, who died in a road mishap last week, was buried yesterday in Sapian Public Cemetery.
Perono, an SK chairman of Barangay Bilao, Sapian, Capiz suffered head injury and was rushed to the Mambusao District Hospital but declared dead on arrival by attending physician.
SPO1 Catalino Orlen of Sapian PNP Station said that the incident took place at around 5 p.m. on November 11 in Sitio Minoro, Brgy. Bula, Sapian, Capiz.
The victim, SPO1 Orlen said, was on his way home when he evaded the wet portion of the highway, however, the victim lost control of his motorcycle causing it to swerve then bump the concrete school fence.
Sapian Mayor Arturo “Turic” Orosco, Sr. said that by law of succession, the vice president in the person of John Lester Basilla will be the next SK chair and will assume as the ex-officio member of the SB.
He said that the vice president of SK Federation is set to take oath as soon as possible after the burial of Perono.
Meanwhile, Orosco said that some 26 fishermen, who conducted fishing operations in Sapian bay without permit, were released by his office for humanitarian consideration.
