Two alleged peddlers nabbed in drug raid
Two suspected illegal drug pushers were arrested following an anti-narcotics operation Saturday at Brgy. Veterans Village, Iloilo City.
Joint elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)VI and the Iloilo City Mobile Group (ICMG) intelligence operatives collared Richard Leonor Y Sevilla alias “Jonathan,” 32, and Gualberto Badiana y Talabucon alias Bobo, 40, both residents of the said place.
The operation was strengthened by Search Warrant no. 58-2009 for violation of Section 6, Article II of Republic Act 9165 issued by RTC 36 Judge Antonio M Natino.
PDEA-6 regional director Paul Ledesma claimed that both suspects are on their watchlist of illegal drug personalities at the Waterfront area.
A thorough monitoring was also done prior to the operation.
The arrest of Leonor and Sevillage led to the recovery of 9 heat-sealed plastic sachets of shabu, 1 big plastic pack with 11 sachets of shabu residue, two bamboo sticks and spatula, two pairs of scissors, 5 Nokia mobile phones, cash amounting to P5,835, wallet containing three identification cards, 14 lighters, rolled and crumpled foils and plastic sachets, used candle, and film canister with rolled aluminium foil.
All seized items were inventoried in the presence of DOJ representive Prosecutor Melvin Sustento, a media representative and Brgy. Chairman Ernesto Espinosa.
The suspects are presently detained at the lock-up cell of Police Station 1 for proper disposition of their case.
