Insurance of soldiers improved
Last Thursday, December 17, the Armed Forces Chief-of-Staff Gen Victor S Ibrado AFP signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the President of the Armed Forces and Police Mutual Benefit Association, Inc. (AFPMBAI) RAdm Rufino S Lopez Jr AFP (Ret) that will improve the insurance protection of all personnel of the AFP.
The improved Basic Insurance of AFP personnel provides higher insurance coverage with accidental death benefit, higher disability benefit, higher retirement benefit, higher and faster build-up of loanable amount, and additional P50,000 for those killed-in-action.
Witnessed by the commanders of the different branches of service including the Commanding General of the Philippine Army, LtGen. Delfin N Bangit AFP, the Flag-Officer-In-Command, VAdm Ferdinand S Golez AFP and the Commanding General of the Philippine Air Force, LtGen Oscar H Rabena AFP, the signing of the MOA was held yesterday at the AFPMBAI Boardroom in Bonny Serrano Ave. , Quezon City .
The last upgrading of the Basic Insurance was in December 2000 when the coverage was increased to P35,700 for a monthly premium of only P25 for enlisted personnel and a maximum of P85,600 for a monthly premium of only P60 for officers.
