Roging can’t be adopted by NP, says Villar ally
ROXAS CITY – Former 1st District Congressman Rodriquez “Roging” Dadivas cannot be adopted by the Nationalista Party (NP), according to an ally of Sen. Manny Villar, NP president.
The ally, who requested anonymity, said that Dadivas, whose son is Reelectionist Vice Mayor Ronnie is a Liberal Party (LP) bet, is loyal to the said party and that the political rift between him and the LP could be considered as a family rift, which could eventually settled by the LP hierarchy.
The source also said that the NP has a local coalition with Ugyon Kita Capiz (UKC) of Former Department of Agriculture (DA) Usec Jocelyn “Jocjoc” Bolante and 2nd District Congressman Fredenil Castro, thus the adoption would be in conflict with Vice Gov. Felipe Barredo who is running for congressman in the 1st District.
The NP and UKC will support Barredo who is running against Congressman Antonio del Rosario and Dadivas.
Earlier, there were rumors about Dadivas and Bolante meeting about a possible merger because Barredo, an UKC ally, has not reportedly taken off with his congressional bid.
However, both Bolante and Dadivas denied the merger but admitted to meeting each other.
Dadivas, who has already filed his Certificate of Candidacy (COC), said that he is running in order to finish some unfinished business and reiterated his loyalty to LP.
According to him, he is not turning back after he got irked over a party member who promised him a congressional slot but Judy Roxas and Emmanuel “Tawi” Billones strongly denied it.
