Child’s Play
The Creative Arts for Early Childhood Education (ECE 509 class) of the College of Education Graduate School of West Visayas State University held a unique art exhibit entitled “Kids Multicultural Arts Exhibit.” Fourteen teachers taking up their masters at the said university presented their artworks for children from the different cultures of the world. The exhibit was spearheaded by class president Boni Gaverza, under the supervision of their art teacher, Professor Arturo Souribio.
The objective of this one-day exhibition was to show teachers, art students and guests several art activities that they can adopt and teach their pupils and children. This activity also aimed to promote harmony and awareness among the different cultures of the world.
Dr. Edith Silloriquez, dean of the College of Education together with Professor Angie Germinal, program advisor of ECE of the said college, cut the ribbon to open the exhibition. Several faculty members and students of the university came to view the display – Japanese paper dolls, African Masks, Egyptian paper beads and many more.
