Sen. Villar’s promise
A tribe manager of a non-winning tribe in the recent Dinagyang ati-ati competition is asking where the promise of Sen. Manny Villar to give P10,000 to non-winning tribes went. The tribe manager complained that the Iloilo Dinagyang Foundation Inc. (IDFI) denied their claim, although it was clearly announced at the Iloilo Freedom Grandstand during the awarding. What’s the real score Sir Ben?
Treñas’s concern
Congressional candidate Mayor Jerry Treñas wants the city to be placed under Comelec control following the alleged harassment of his children inside the Nabitasan Elementary School by a drunk cop who serves as bodyguard of the Gonzalezes. Treñas claimed the Gonzalezes seem uncontrollable when it comes to the use of armed men. He also complains about the partiality of some police officers in the city. Well, being the City Mayor he can still exercise the full extent of his power to control the situation without resorting to the Comelec option. It’s just a matter of political will on the part of Mayor Treñas.
Politics inside evac center
Nabitasan Elementary School, the evacuation center for more than 500 fire victims, has become a favorite place of politicians aspiring to win in the coming May 2010 elections. Day after day all sorts of relief operations are being conducted by politicians in groups or individually. There are those who give used clothings, ready-to-eat food, bottled water, hot soup, rice, sardines, noodles, etc. Streamers or posters of politicians can also be seen on walls of classrooms and in any other parts of the school. Kon indi pakadto eleksyon ayhan makadumdum man ining mga politiko nga magpamasyar sa Nabitasan kag maghatag bulig sa mga biktima sang sunog?
