High-powered firearms seized in raid
ROXAS CITY – Several high powered firearms were recovered in a raid conducted by the composite team of Maayon police and provincial intelligence of the Capiz Provincial Police Office (CPPO) last Wednesday morning in Brgy. Cabungahan, Maayon, Capiz.
Chief Inspector Danilo Araquel, chief of intelligence, told The News Today (TNT) that they raided the houses of Mamerto, 54; Jury, 23; and Marianito, 34, all having Delfin as family name.
Araquel said that recovered from Mamerto’s house was 12 gauge shotgun; Jury, 12 gauge shotgun and .38 revolver with magazine and ammunitions and from Marianito, 12 gauge shot gun.
He added that the three suspects were raided on the strength of a search warrant issued by Executive Judge Edward Contreras of the Regional Trial Court.
The intelligence chief said that his office received reports that the suspects always fired their firearms causing fear among residents at the said place.
Meanwhile, Rodolfo Delfin and Isidro Delfin, who were also subjects of the search warrant, yielded no firearms in their houses.
Araquel also said that the three suspects will be charged with violation of illegal possession of firearms.
