Miag-ao’s Salakayan Festival
Attending the Salakayan Festival of Miag-ao was such an experience. Although the Salakayan Contest, a street drama, took place at a somewhat narrow road in front of the Miag-ao Church, the performers fared well and delighted the crowd.
Most of the performances showed the municipality’s history – the battle of the locals against the Moros who always attacked the shores of Miag-ao and steal from them.
This year’s Salakayan Festival was held last February 7 to 13, with the Salakayan Contest as its highlight.
