Teenage girl gang raped by four men?
A teenage girl alleged that she was raped by four men at a secluded area in Brgy. Desamparados, Jaro, Iloilo City early morning of Wednesday.
The alleged rape of 17-year old Mae (real name withheld) was known after she went to Jaro Police Station to surrender a sachet of suspected shabu.
During the interrogation, Mae claimed that she came from Brgy. Bakhaw, Mandurriao district, where four men allegedly took turns in sexually molesting her.
In an interview over GMA’s Ratsada, the alleged victim claimed that the four men brought her near a river where the gang rape occurred.
After she was sexually abused, Mae claimed that all she could do was cry.
“Naghibi ko. Dason ginhatag niya ang shabu kag ginhatagan niya ko P20,” she added.
When police conducted a follow-up operation, it was learned that the incident did not happen at Brgy. Bakhaw but in the nearby Brgy. Desamparados.
Police operatives also saw a man and another girl in the area where the supposed gang rape occurred.
At that juncture, Mae pointed to the man, who was later known as 45-year old Rommel Gregory, as one of the four men who raped her.
Gregory’s companion, on the other hand, seemed to be oblivious on the things around her. Instead, she claimed innocence why she was in the area.
When Gregory was brought to the police station, he denied raping Mae.
Instead, he admitted having “casual sex” with his woman companion in exchange for his Nokia 3310 mobile phone.
“Wala ko ya kwarta. Ang (Nokia) 3310 amo na pinakabayad ko sa iya,” he admitted.
Later, the two women and Gregory were brought to the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) Women and Children’s Protection Desk.
But what puzzled police investigators was Mae’s reported refusal to formally complain and have Gregory put on jail despite her earlier allegation that the man raped her.
