SPHI launches centennial celebrations
St. Paul’s Hospital Iloilo (SOHI) launched its centennial celebrations with the promise of continuous compassionate service to Iloilo and the neighboring provinces.
The opening program was held last March 2, 2010 at the Marian Theater, SPHI.
Sr. Linda Tanalgo, SPC, hospital administrator, formally declared the opening of the centennial celebrations. In the spirit of the celebrations, 10 doves were released, symbolizing the 10 decades of the hospital’s mission in the region. The centennial countdown board was likewise unveiled.
His Grace, Jaro Archbishop Angel Lagdameo, officiated the high mass.
The celebration continued until the evening, with the musical extravaganza entitled “100 … Celebrating Milestones Thru Music” directed by Romie John Delariarte. The performers in the musical were SPHI nurses, employees, and students from St. Paul University Iloilo. The show narrated the story of the St. Paul of Chartres in Iloilo, the pioneering sisters’ arrival and the success they have reaped until today.
The following day, March 3, some SPHI employees were recognized for their invaluable service, their dedication to render holistic care to the clients.
The SPHI community has a line-up of more activities that will culminate in a grand centennial celebration on February 2011.
