Kidnappers of Tsinoy scion ask for P20M?
Days after the kidnapping, the family of kidnapped Fil-Chinese businessman expectedly remains mum about the incident.
But reports have been coming out that the kidnappers already ask their price in order to set free Jordan Chua, 26, a resident of Bacolod City.
Chua is vice president of Southern Philippines Deep Sea Fishing. Inc. and his family owns Jordan Fishing in Zamboanga City.
Raw reports claimed that Chua’s father went to another known businessman in Bacolod City to ask for help from a retired sPNP chief and from other officials in Camp Crame.
Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) director Senior Supt. Manuel Felix claimed that there was no confirmation about the alleged monetary demand of the kidnappers.
He only claimed that the investigation is going on and they have been contacting more eyewitnesses.
“Hopefully, we would get additional possible witnesses and soon, we hope to come up with cartographic sketch of the suspects,” he added.
But the NOPPO chief is not discounting the possibility also that the kidnapping incident was meant to gather election funds.
As this developed, Felix said that they are hoping that Chua and his kidnappers are still in Negros Island.
“Sana nandito pa sa jurisdiction natin. Tayo po naman ay nakapag-poste sa mga seaports natin pero alam niyo naman na ang ating province ay all coastline. So, hindi natin dini-discount ‘yung posibilidad na wala na rin sila dito,” he added.
It must be recalled that Chua and his companion, Joel Arroyo, were riding their bikes 7:00 a.m. of Friday at Purok Michell, Barangay Dulao, Bago City, Negros Occidental, when four unidentified suspects on board a silver-grey Toyota Grandia without plate number, just shot at Arroyo.
They then dragged Chua into their vehicle while Arroyo pretended to be dead.
Arroyo, a resident of Barangay Mansilingan, in Bacolod City, was later brought to the Bacolod City Sanitarium Hospital.
Eye witnesses claimed to have seen the kidnappers speeding off towards the nearby Brgy. Felisa in Bacolod City right after the incident.
Policemen from the Negros Occidental Provincial Public Safety Management Company, together with Bacolod City Police Station and Camp Alfredo Montelibano, immediately conducted hot pursuit operations but yielded negative result.
