DENR releases funds for payment of salaries of Bantay Gubat workers
THE Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Region VI, Regional Technical Director for Forestry Livino B. Duran reiterates that payments for salaries and wages of Bantay Dagat/Bantay Gubat/Extension Officers involved in Comprehensive Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (CLEEP) under the livelihood program of Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo last year 2009, can now be claimed in their respective PENRO Offices, regionwide. This was reiterated by RTD Duran during the Monday morning convocation held at the DENR Regional Office, just this morning.
The reiteration was made in response to the non-stop query though telephone by concerned individuals and groups pertaining to the release of funds for payment.
Duran speaking in behalf of RED Julian D. Amador who is Manila for a very important and official business, also disclosed that upon receipt of the fund from the DBM, this was subsequently released to all PENR offices regionwide for payment to respective Bantay Gubat workers assigned in their respective areas.
He also appealed to all these Bantay Gubat workers to help the DENR by being vigilant in monitoring all areas in their field of assignment in preventing the occurrence of grass/brush fires specially in our reforestation projects.
Furthermore, he encouraged all individuals and groups running for any elective position this coming election to include in their top agenda the protection of our forest areas and prevent it from fire.
