DPWH completes P168-M road projects in Boracay Island
Traveling in Boracay Island is now more convenient with the completion of some P168-million worth of road projects undertaken by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
DPWH regional director Rolando Asis recently disclosed the completion of about 10.271 kilometer construction and asphalt overlay projects on the island’s main access road amounting to some P111.8 million.
Further, the agency has completed the concreting of the 1.086-kilometer Bolabog to Lapus-Lapus road section to the tune of P15 million and the 2.053-km Lapus-Lapus Fairway section amounting to P30 million.
There is also an ongoing construction of the P50-million circumferential road that covers the stretch of Bolabog and Talubihan section with a length of about 2.4 kilometers.
To further support the development in Boracay, the DPWH is also proposing for another 2.4-kilometer road opening in the island.
The various road networks in the island of Boracay have been included under the high impact projects of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo which are expected to enhance the development of areas. (PNA)
