Comelec completes training for city BEIs
The city Commission on Elections (Comelec) just recently has completed the trainings of some 688 teachers who will serve as members of the Board of Election Inspectors (BEIs) in the May 2010 polls.
Elections Assistant Officer II Jonathan Sayno said only the first two members —the chairman and the poll clerk of each precinct— underwent training where they were given an intensive training of their roles in the coming May polls.
They were likewise trained on how to operate the Precinct Optical Scan (PCOS) machines.
Iloilo City has a total of 344 clustered precincts, Sayno said.
Sayno added the BEIs have been certified information technology literate after passing the diagnostics that were given to them by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) after the training.
Meanwhile, trainings are still going on for other BEIs all over Western Visayas. (PNA)
