Plagata voice-less
Iloilo City vice mayoralty candidate Councilor Tong-tong Plagata have been voice-less the past few days. Reports say that Plagata’s throat caught some sort of infection reason why he has temporarily stopped visiting some barangays. Unfortunately, as he suffers from this medical condition rumors spread that Plagata will be withdrawing his vice mayoralty bid. Well, this is just a rumor and it will remain as such until we hear a word from Plagata himself.
Same fate
Both Iloilo City and province suffer the same fate as far as the declaration of a state of calamity relative to the El Niño effects is concerned. As for the city, the Sangguniang Panglungsod apparently ignored the request of Mayor Jerry Treñas while for the province Sangguniang Panlalawigan also turned down Governor Niel Tupas’s recommendation. Mayor Treñas has turned to the National Disaster Coordinating Council to ask help, Governor Tupas, on the other hand, is seeking the help of the Department of Agriculture. Let’s see what happens next.
