Lastimoso is awardee in good governance
ROXAS CITY – The National Movement for Good Governance and Accountability and (NMGGA) and its local chapter Reliable and Transparent Leadership Movement (RTLM) awarded former PNP Chief and retired Gen. Roberto “Bobby” Lastimoso last Sunday afternoon in Capiz State University (CAPSU) Campus in Mambusao, Capiz.
Mr. Sid Balatan, founding chairman and convenor of the said organization, said that Lastimoso was chosen as awardee in good governance based on his records in public service where he shown his good leadership.
Balatan said that the Lastimoso has been in police service for 32 years where he became PNP chief and 12 years for public office as Land Transportation (LTO) chief, Manila Rail Transit (MRT) manager and Department of Transportation and Communication (DOTC) Usec.
The founding chairman clarified that the organization as a whole is non-partisan in politics but policemen individually is partisan.
According to him, the good governance and accountability advocates have been organized in 2007 where they already awarded several elected public officials in Luzon.
Balatan also said that the said non-governmental organization (NGO) is pushing for honest, clean and peaceful election in May 10, 2010.
He said that they expected some 5,000 participants however, they were surprised that around 8,000 came from nine towns in second district.
Meanwhile, Lastimoso expressed thanks to the organizer for being chosen as awardee of the organization, adding that he never expected the award.
He also apologized to the participants who were not well entertained by the organizers.
