Catholic Trivia 2 Answers B
- Three. There are 14 stations of the cross. The first station begins with Jesus’ condemnation to death and ends with Him dying on the cross. Stations 3,7 and 9 depict the falls. The purpose of the Stations is so we don’t forget what Jesus has done for us in the way of Salvation.
- Twelve. Their names were Peter; James; John; Andrew; Philip; Bartholomew; Matthew; Thomas; James; Thaddaeus; Simon, and Judas. Of course Judas was the only apostle that is not a Saint, because of his betrayal of Jesus. Judas was replaced after he committed suicide and Paul was also considered an apostle because he was trained by Jesus in the desert. This was after Christ had gone back to heaven, but the Bible shows that He came back down to train Paul.
- Moses. From the burning bush, God promised that he would deliver Israel from Egypt.
- Bethlehem. Though the Holy Family lived in Nazareth for a period of time, it was in Bethlehem where the Savior was born.
- Gabriel. Think how scared Mary must have been when only a teenager she was asked to be the mother of the Savior! She had the faith enough to say yes, which changed the course of humanity.
- Forty. 40 days after His resurrection we celebrate Ascension Thursday.
- Pilate. Pilate was the only one who could either free Jesus or crucify him. In his heart he knew Jesus didn’t do anything wrong, but he gave into the shouts and cries of ‘Crucify Him!’ from the people.
- Mary, 3 months pregnant with Jesus, raced over to help her cousin with her pregnancy. She stayed with Elizabeth until John was born, then returned home to await the birth of Jesus.
- Five. There are 5 decades of the rosary in total and 4 sets of Mysteries; meditating on each set of Mysteries consists of praying 5 decades, one for each Mystery in the set. The Mysteries are Joyful (meditation on the birth and life of Jesus), Sorrowful (meditation on the condemnation and death of Jesus), and Glorious (meditation on the resurrection of Jesus and Assumption of Mary) as well as a brand new set added by the Pope 2002, called the Mysteries of Light. A decade of the rosary consists of 1 Our Father and 10 Hail Mary’s, which are prayed while meditating on a mystery.
- Twelve. His answer to his parents when found was, ‘Did you not know that I had to be about My Father’s business?’
