Murder raps slapped vs. suspect in resort killing
Police already filed a murder charge against the suspect who allegedly stabbed dead a woman inside a rented room of a beach resort more than two weeks ago.
Arevalo Police Station chief Senior Insp. Eliazer Baclagon identified the suspect as a certain Reginald Layson, a resident of Compania Central, Molo, Iloilo City.
Baclagon revealed that Layson was the live-in partner of slain Marissa Galon Tajonera, 26, a native of San Lorenzo, Guimaras.
In filing a case against Layson, Baclagon said that they have three witnesses – the victim’s employer, her friend, and the roomboy of Wilken’s Beach Resort.
Tajonera, who worked as a househelp, allegedly asked for a day off from her employer to be with her live-in partner.
“Nag-text man siya sa iya miga nga ara sya sa Wilken’s kag upod ang iya bana-bana,” Baclagon said.
Meanwhile, the roomboy allegedly saw that the victim was with Layson prior to the discovery of her body.
Baclagon said that jealousy prompted the suspect to kill his live-in partner.
It can be recalled that Tajonera was found dead inside Room M4 of Wilken’s Beach Resort at Brgy. Sto Niño Norte, Arevalo, Iloilo City.
She bore a lone stab wound on her chest when she was found.
A resort attendant claimed that the victim and a male companion checked in at around 4:00 in the afternoon of March 20.
They paid in cash for their stay that will last 7:00 in the morning of the next day.
It was already past 7:00 a.m. of Sunday but nobody came out of Room M4.
Later, resort attendants knocked on the door and found the woman alone on top of the bed.
