Bolante hits back at Roxas
ROXAS CITY – Ugyon Kita Capiz (UKC) gubernatorial candidate Jocelyn “Jocjoc” Bolante hit back at Liberal Party (LP) vice presidential candidate Mar Roxas who lambasted him last week.
In a two-page press release sent to the media here, Bolante said that the Roxases are so desperate in destroying him for standing up against them.
He said that he is standing up against the Roxases together with tens of thousands of Capiceños led by Cong. Fredenil Castro, Vice Gov. Felipe Barredo, City Mayor Vic Bermejo and 12 others mayors.
“Ang pagbutangbutang nga si Jocjoc makawat isa ka malisyoso nga padihot sang mga pulitiko nga kapareho sang Roxases nga feudalismo ang pamatasan,” Bolante said his press statement.
Bolante said the Roxases don’t want to lose their power by dominating Capiz politically.
He added that the Roxases look at Capiz as their “hacienda” while the Capiceños are their “sakada”.
Bolante said that Roxas has no evidence that he stole government money, adding that the latter is merely employing dirty politics.
He also slammed Roxas for doing nothing in Capiz for 25 years since he assumed in power from congressman and later as Trade and Industry Secretary and senator.
Bolante urged Capiceños to be awakened for change as Capiz already lagged behind in terms of developments like Bohol and Camarines Sur.
Last week, Roxas, along with LP presidential bet Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, called Bolante as a thief and that the Capiz province will land in Guinness book of world record once people voted him as governor of Capiz.
Aquino said that if there really is a need for him to go house to house campaign against Jocjoc, he will do it, but he said it no longer needed since Tanco will win based on the survey.
Roxas said that Capiz province is the battle ground of LP and the administration where they want to stay in power as “tuloy ang ligaya” while the opposition is pushing “tuloy ang laban” as they believed “kon walang kurap walang mahirap”.
During the press conference last week, Roxas said that his allies abandoned LP and joined Jocjoc who has something to hold them as the latter is holding “alas”, Roxas said referring to his allies who joined Bolante’s Ugyon Kita Party (UKC), an opponent of LP in Capiz.
“Masakit man sa akon ang ila gin himo, matapos gin suportahan ko sila sa malawig nga panahon kag ulolopud kami, pagkatapus gin bayaan nila ako,” Roxas said.
According to him, if his former allies could not leave Bolante for their political survival then “I understand them, but I’m hurt with what they have done,” Roxas added.
However, 2nd District Cong. Fredenil Castro and City Mayor Vicente Bermejo also blamed Roxas for not having settled political differences among his allies. They also claimed that they did not bolt from the LP but they were kicked out by the party.
