Headless body found in La Paz
Police are still facing a blank wall as to the identity of the headless body found floating at the Iloilo Floodway Project in Brgy. Banuyao, La Paz, Iloilo City.
La Paz Police Station commander Chief Insp. Giovanni Musico claimed that they have a hard time identifying the body since no head was found and it bore no marks that could have been useful in the identification.
“We’re calling on to the public who have a missing member of the family to please coordinate with La Paz Police Station. We could not identify it because it has no tattoo or other marks in the body,” Musico claimed.
The body was found by a resident of Banuyao Saturday morning.
Aside from underwear, no other garment was found on the victim.
The victim also suffered multiple stab injuries in different parts of his body.
There were also no signs that the victim was killed in the area.
“The body could have been killed somewhere else and thrown here,” Musico said adding that they are looking at the possibility that the fatality is a victim of summary execution.
Meanwhile, PNP Regional Director Chief Supt. Isagani Cuevas claimed that what happened is just an isolated case and could not be construed as a sign of the presence of vigilante group in the metropolis.
“It could just be a personal grudge. The suspect must have hated the victim to behead him,” Cuevas claimed.
