Capiz mobile school grads to receive livelihood starter kit
ROXAS CITY – Forty – two out-of-school youth (OSY) and graduates of Mobile Technology School (MTS) in Sigma, Capiz are set to receive the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) Kabuhayan Starter Kit this May.
“Chosen beneficiaries underwent an orientation and submitted their respective individual business plan and projected income,” said DOLE – Capiz Provincial Head Ricardo P. Monegro.
The beneficiaries consisted of 18 and 24 graduates of Basic Arc Welding and Beauty Care skills training courses, respectively, from the MTS project.
DOLE has allocated P300,000 for the proposal that will be granted in the form of wielding tools and beauty care kit, he added.
“The management team will keep track of the project’s status and implementation,” Monegro stressed.
The project is a livelihood formation strategy that is intended to bring about improved socio-economic well-being of workers in the informal economy, in groups/sectors with special concerns, and displaced wage workers (local and overseas) and their families.
It will provide a livelihood starter kits consisting of a package of services that will enable the target beneficiaries to start quickly a livelihood undertaking and become self-employed.
It also aims to engage them in sustainable self-employment through easy to learn livelihood undertakings. (PIA/A.Lumaque)
