NEDA-VI receives most awards
It was award harvest day for Region VI during the Regional Sub-Committee for the Welfare of Children (RSCWC) 2010 Annual Conference held at A. Venue Suites Hotel in Makati City on April 22, 2010.
Of the many awards and recognitions given by the body, Western Visayas garnered five awards, the most among the regions. The NEDA Region VI office was conferred the Most Supportive and Participative Member since 1991 Award. Likewise, Ms Estela F. Paredes, Chief Economic Development Specialist of NEDA-VI was given the Most Active and Participative Member of RSCWC Award.
Aside from the two major awards, other awards given to Region VI by the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC) were:
* The Region with the Highest Number of Participating LGUs in the Search for Child Friendly LGU for CY 2008;
* The Region with the Consistent Highest Number of Participating LGUs in the Search for Child Friendly LGU for CY 2006-2008; and
* The Region as the Producer of National Awardees for the Search.
Indeed, NEDA-VI continues to live up to its commitment to provide special attention to the children of Western Visayas, considering that they eventually will be the future major players and stakeholders of the region.
