The Carabao Carroza Race of the Pavia township, is the oldest festival in the Province of Iloilo. It just might be the only one of its kind in the whole world!
One gets to have mixed feelings while watching this race. What with big carabao behemoths, thundering through the grassy racetrack, with the handler on top of the carabao, towing an empty carroza.
It is a spectacle! It could be dangerous for all–rider and spectators. However, I-Travel never saw a carabao got crazy and uncontrollable. If ever the animal does get crazy and berserk, many people and photographers will get into a whole lot of danger.
But, it just keep getting more popular for all and it benefits Pavia’s tourism as well.
