Stupid LTO operatives
Land Transportation Office (LTO) seems to be in dire need of revenue these days. Its operatives have been conducting apprehensions left and right even without reason. Unfortunately, motorcycles are its most common victim. If you have noticed, all motorcycles are being flagged down, while other types of vehicles, particularly the private ones, are simply ignored. LTO operatives tend to find all means to impose any violation on the poor motorcycle driver. One glaring example is the apprehension of motorcycles that do not have a renewal sticker. This is very stupid since there is no available sticker at the LTO anyway. In other words, it is not the fault of the drivers not to obtain a sticker from the LTO, but the operatives keep on apprehending them. Masyado sila ka istrikto nga ang ila kakulangan pwerte man. Ka arogante pa sa ila. Mga haslo!
Weder-weder
Perhaps, until now the Gonzalezes could not believe that they were totally wiped out after the May 10 elections. They have the money, barangay captains, leaders and a strong organization, yet they have fallen. In the city council only two from their group won, incumbents Kagawad Jeffrey Ganzon (No.2) and Kagawad Ely Estante (No.10). Well, that is politics. As Erap said, pa weder-weder lang ‘yan. To all the losers, better luck next time.
Positioning for 2013
Mayor Jerry, incoming congressman of Iloilo City, is bent on pushing for the division of the city into two districts. With this development, politicians will surely prepare for the 2013 elections when the city will be electing two congressmen and two sets of Sangguniang Panglungsod members. One politician, who plans to run for congressman in case the redistricting will be realized, has said that he will concentrate more on the Jaro, Mandurriao and Lapaz districts in preparation for 2013.
