TMEU readies for traffic on school opening
The Traffic Management and Enforcement Unit (TMEU) here is preparing for the upsurge of traffic volume as the school opening approaches.
TMEU head Inspector Kitt L. Flora said they are ready for the expected traffic congestion and possible rerouting to be implemented as classes begins on June 15.
Flora said they will post more auxiliary traffic officers in all main roads in the city especially those leading to universities.
They will also send all four traffic patrol cabs on the opening day to immediately address road clogs and incidents.
The traffic inspector said they will post auxiliaries in all intersections, main streets and roads along schools.
TMEU currently has 29 permanent traffic officers and it relies for support from its 270 auxiliary traffic aides.
Meanwhile, Flora is calling on all drivers, both private and passenger types, to strictly follow traffic rules and signage for a smooth traffic flow during heavy hours, especially on early morning when students flock to schools.
He said TMEU will be on full traffic-alert during the first week of school. (PNA)
