LWUA chief Prospero Pichay blames the present members of the board of the MIWD as the major cause of water shortage in Iloilo City.
Checkmate! Pichay is perfectly correct on this. Indeed, the MIWD people appear to be hard-headed, selfish, and opportunistic. Imagine them doing personal business in selling water while “slothing” their lives in MIWD? What a lack of delicadeza! What an act of stupidity!

The deep well option for MIWD is a no brainer. But because of the close-mindedness of the people in the organization, there seem to be no way but down for MIWD as a public institution.
Now, MIWD is synonymous to incompetence and ineptitude.

The allies of Senator Manuel “Mar” Roxas on Panay have blamed the defeat of the Liberal Party (LP) vice presidential candidate on supporters of President-elect Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III who allegedly junked Roxas in favor of Makati City Mayor Jejomar Binay.
What’s wrong with supporting Noy-Bi? This is a free country right? Besides, Mar still needs to prove his usefulness in Roxas City.

The numbers trivia: Noynoy’s 3, 5, 6, 9 & 10
President-elect Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III’s rise to the presidency meant crunching a lot of numbers.
The numbers, 3, 5, 6, 9 and 10 seem to play a huge role in Aquino’s life and political career, based on data gathered by historian, columnist and ANC’s “The Explainer” host Manolo Quezon.
Here are some of them:
Number 3
Aquino is the third to bear his name, and the first to use the suffix “III”. At 50, he is the 3rd youngest elected president.
Number 5
Aquino is the Philippines’ 15th president in the 5th republic. He is the 5th president who is a smoker.
Number 6
Aquino is the 6th president to get elected to a 6-year term, and the 6th to take his oath on June 30.
Number 9
Aquino was proclaimed on Wednesday, June 9, or exactly 9 months after he proclaimed his candidacy on September 9, 2009 (09/09/09).
He is the 9th president to be proclaimed president-elect by a Philippine Congress, and the 9th president to have served in the House.
Number 10
Aquino was elected on May 10, 2010 (05/10/10). He is the 10th president to have served in the Senate.

Kris has defended her brother Noy from critics who lambasted him over possible appointments of celebrities to government posts. “What’s wrong with Boy Abunda as Tourism Assistant Secretary,” she asked.
She’s right, Abunda has all the experience and academic preparations having taken his Masters in International Relations in Ateneo and being a tri-media and marketing icon. I could have asked Kris, also an Atenean, if she could be the next Tourism Secretary and change the name of the department as SNN II or Buzz—The Sequel.
