Tanco, Orosco give gears to Sapian fishers
SAPIAN, Capiz – Capiz Governor Victor Tanco, Sr. and Mayor Arturo “Turic” Orosco, Sr. Ph.D. distributed fishing materials for “patuloy” to the fisherfolks whose fishing nets were damaged during the devastation of typhoon Frank in Capiz two years ago.
“This distribution was supposed to be done before the election but we had set it aside as it might be misconstrued that we are playing politics,” Tanco clarified.
According to him, election is over and they should work together with Mayor Orosco although they do not belong in the same party.
“This is to continue to fulfill my slogan “Pag-ulikid labi sa tanan ang tawo”, he said adding that education, health and livelihood are still among his pillars in good governance.
On the other hand, Orosco vowed to support Tanco for the development of his town since they have the same vision.
Orosco clarified that he never thrown issues against the governor thus, the election in Sapian and the rest of Capiz was generally peaceful.
Orosco, who was reelected in the recently concluded May 10 election run under the Nationalista Party (NP) of presidential candidate Manny Villar. However, he coalesced with the local Lakas-Kampi-CMD of outgoing 2nd district Cong. Fredenil Castro and Former Agriculture Usec. Jocelyn “Jocjoc” Bolante.
It was learned that despite Orosco’s affiliation, he still supported Sen. Mar Roxas’ vice presidential bid being a Capiceño.
