Yes to nuclear!
P-Noy is “open to nuclear power” as an alternative energy resource to plug the country’s energy crisis.
I am 100% supportive to this. Contrary to popular understanding, nuclear power plants, if enhanced correctly, can perform hundreds times better and cheaper than other sources of energy, including renewable sources. It is tens of thousand times more environmentally friendly than all kinds of fossil fuel-based power plants. It will even reduce significantly CO2 emission.

For the environmental extremists, nuclear power plants are bane in social development.
Tell that to the ultra eco-conscious Japan, the United States and much of the developed Europe! For decades already, they too are using nuclear power plants to their advantage not just economically, but also environmentally.

The Comelec plans to automate the 2013 elections.
For as long as there will be no secrecy folder-like transactions, we must embrace the advantages of technology to account our much-valued right of suffrage.

The National Food Authority (NFA) reported that Iloilo province has still a buffer stock enough to last for another 35 days.
What then after 35 days?

Treñas said that the first commercially viable coal-fired power plant in Western Visayas will be operational by September this year.
Prepare your gas masks ASAP. The alleged clean coal technology may end up a fluke.

Sen. Drilon aims to help Western Visayas more.
He better do it since we are already lagging behind other areas in terms of investments, projects, and services.

The world has become less peaceful chiefly due to the likelihood of violent demonstrations and homicidal rates, said an expert from global think tank Institute for Economics and Peace.
Maybe it has to do with the chemicals we produce, eat, dispose, and inhale.

Despite the existing “no uniform” policy, DepEd said it will not tolerate “jejemon” fashion among school children adding that they should still wear the proper school attire.
Jejemon? Uniform? What a trivial concern. When will DepEd use most of its time thinking of solutions leading to increase of teachers’ salary, betterment of teaching strategies and curriculum, improvement of student-to-teacher ratio, addition of classrooms, and improvement of school facilities?

Lakers won against Celtics in Game 6 last Wednesday.
I still believe that bench and experience factor will get the big “W” in Game 7. Beat L.A.!

Once a traditional politician, always a traditional politician?

DOH plans to require cigarette manufacturers to place graphic warnings in their products.
This is a good strategy. But it will help more if we increase taxes three-folds in cigarettes so that smokers will be forced not to buy and sniff one. If this still won’t work, we can criminalize smoking and crucify (or skin to death) the smokers in plain daylight for being guilty of slowly and silently killing mankind!

Insurgency in Western Visayas is going down.
The dwindling number of rebels may be attributed to the Reds’ outdated socio-political philosophies.

Mayweather or Cotto for Pacquiao?
If I were Manny, I will go for Cotto first. This, if luck prevails, will give the new congressman his eight world title belt. This feat will stay in the books in decades for sure. Mayweather can be the icing in the Pacquiao cake later. Floyd is a fit exclamation point in the career of the National Fist.

Human rights groups in Australia and New Zealand have called on P-Noy to address the spate of extra-judicial killings and enforced disappearances in the Philippines.
I wonder how will P-Noy, son of Ninoy who was once abducted and eventually extra-judicially killed—respond to this?

Apple said Wednesday it received 600,000 orders for the new iPhone, a single-day record, as its telecom partner AT&T suspended the troubled early ordering process because of the heavy demand.
Only if it is as cheap as a scientific calculator, I could have been part of the buying mob.

Joke of the Day:
The Cat’s Diary: Day 983 of my captivity.
My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength. The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet. Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates my capabilities. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a “good little hunter” I am. Jerks!
There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of “allergies.” I must learn what this means, and how to use it to my advantage. Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow, but at the top of the stairs.
I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released, and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded. The bird must be an informant. I observe him communicate with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe. For now.
