Asia-Pacific young entrepreneur award finalist is an Ilonggo
Young Ilonggo entrepreneur Edgar “Injap” Sia II, CEO of Mang Inasal, has been selected as one of the finalists for the Third Asia Pacific Young Entrepreneur Award of the Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI), according to Joe Marie Agriam, president of the Iloilo Chamber of Commerce and Industry who received the congratulatory e-mail from Taipei, Taiwan based CACCI.
The Iloilo Chamber of Commerce and Industry nominated its member, Edgar “Injap” Sia II for the prestigious search initiated by CACCI to recognize exemplary young entrepreneurs in the Asia-Pacific region. Earlier, Sia bested other nominees from other local chapters of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) nationwide. The criteria in the search are business acumen, leadership, quality, integrity and the nominee’s corporate social responsibility advocacy for the good of his/her country. Conferred every biennium by CACCI, the Award is open to male or female entrepreneurs below 45 years of age nominated by any CACCI Primary member.
Sia will represent the Philippines and will compete with other finalist from the Asia-Pacific region for the final selection, which will be held during the 24th CACCI Conference on July 5 to 7, 2010 in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The eventual winner will receive a trophy and US$ 2,000.
Previous winners included are Mohammed Sulay-man Rubel, managing director, Rare Group of Bangladesh (2006) and Wilson Jacob, chairman and managing director, Kottayam Port and Container Terminal Pvt. Ltd., India (2008).
Meanwhile, the Cebu Chamber of commerce and Industry will also confer to Edgar “Injap” Sia II the Outstanding Young entrepreneur Award during the 19th Visayas Area Business Conference to be held in Cebu City on June 24-26, 2010.
