Celino to change traffic aide into auxiliary police
ROXAS CITY – Incoming City Mayor Alan Celino said here recently that he will change the traffic aides into auxiliary police whose duty are not only for traffic but also to help the police maintain peace and order.
It was learned that some 60 plus auxiliary police are still on training as of press time and will replace the traffic aides once Celino assumes office on July l.
The mayor-elect also said that he will also restore the Roxas City Traffic Management (ROTMA) which manages the traffic in the city.
It was learned that ROTMA was introduced by Celino when he was still city councilor, however, it was abolished during the administration of City Mayor Antonio del Rosario, now first district congressman.
A reliable source from the Celino camp told The News Today (TNT) that Celino’s administration is studying to transfer the terminal from one kilometer to one and a half kilometers due to the traffic congestion at the Kilometer One where provincial jeepneys terminal is located.
Traffic congestion is usually experienced from Kilometer One to Roxas City Avenue and the rest of the main thoroughfares in city due to the growing tricycles and vehicles.
The Celino administration, according to the source, is also eying the new comprehensive terminal to be constructed at one and a half kilometers away from the radius of the city.
Earlier, to fulfill his promises for change in the city, Celino said that he will be having no ghost employees and 15-30 casual employees adding that all casuals under his administration would be working casuals.
