3 killed in bike-trike collision
Three persons were killed in a road mishap very recently at Brgy. Balucuan, Dao, Capiz.
Two of the fatalities — Homobono Armisa and Joseph Sampiano, both residents of Brgy. Quinabcaban, Dao town – were instantly killed.
On the other hand, Melvin Calizo of Brgy. Nasunugan, Dao, was still brought to Roxas Memorial Hospital in Roxas City but died several hours later.
The incident stemmed when the motorcycle driven by Armisa collided with a tricycle driven by Sampiano.
Armisa, who was with Calizo as his backrider, just came from a pre-fiesta celebration at Sigma town.
It was believed that both victims, who were both not wearing a crash helmet, were under the influence of liquor when the incident happened.
The motorcycle just traversed a sharp curve when it hit the tricycle, which was running on the opposite lane.
Investigation disclosed that Sampiano and his passenger, Fernandito Alsagon, Jr., were on their way to also celebrate the pre-fiesta of Sigma town when the collision happened.
Alsagon was injured during the accident but lucky enough to have survived the mishap.
Police revealed that the area is considered as an accident-prone but it was the first time that three lives were claimed in a mishap.
