New city officials take oath today
All newly-elected city officials will take their oath of office today in a simple but meaningful program at the Iloilo Freedom Grandstand.
A holy mass at the nearby San Jose Parish church will precede the induction and oath-taking ceremonies with guest of honor and speaker comebacking Senator Franklin M. Drilon.
Regional Trial Court executive judge Antonio Natino will administer the oath of office of the local officials led by congressman Jerry P. Treñas and city mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog.
World famous singer Robert Seña of the Miss Saigon fame will sing “This is the Moment” and the USA Troubadors will led the singing of “Handog ng Pilipino sa Mundo” as tribute to the city officials who will lead the city government for the next three years.
Aside from Treñas and Mabilog, other city officials to be inducted are city vice mayor Jose Espinosa III and city councilors Nielex Tupas, Jeffrey Ganzon, Perla Zulueta, David Raymund Jamora, Edward Yee, Jason Gonzales, Joshua Alim, Lyndon Acap, Rodel Agado, Ely Estante Jr., RLeone Gerochi and Plaridel Nava.
The city council is composed of five reelectionists that include two former radio broadcasters and two with doctorate degrees, three lawyers, three businessmen and one reelectionist who was a former barangay captain. (PNA)
