Mayor forms inventory body
Inspired by the Truth Commission created by President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III to ferret out the truth in all past government transactions, Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog issued Executive Order No. 1 yesterday creating a commission that will conduct a comprehensive inventory of all city government physical properties, employees, programs and projects.
The Inventory Commission, headed by former Vice Mayor Victor Facultad, will conduct validation of reports to be submitted by all city government department heads starting this month, the Philippine News Agency reported.
Mabilog said the body will check the inventories in all departments and services of the city government and will give recommendations to the city mayor on the validity of such physical inventories.
The city government has more than 1,500 regular employees and more than 1,500 casual and job hire employees as well.
