A Photographic Society of Iloilo and Persons with Disability Workshop
Veteran photographer John Chua of Adphoto (based in Manila) realized his dream of holding photography workshops involving persons with disabilities in the country. In Iloilo, his idea was implemented by the Photographic Society of Iloilo (PSI), now headed by Carlos Garcia. Now on its second year, the PSI and the Office of the Persons with Disability Affairs (OPDA) headed by Dolly Laudenorio, got involved in a workshop and photo-taking session recently. The orientation was done at the Office of the Archbishop in Jaro. Then, they took pictures of the Jaro Cathedral and Museo Iloilo. Those who were blind were taught how to hold the camera and take shots as well.
These pictures will be printed by Canon using its Selphy printer. Canon provided the cameras as well.
