Hercor College holds bloodletting
ROXAS CITY – In response to the call for blood donations to dengue patients in Capiz, the Hercor College led by its founder and owner Jose “Pepot” Hernandez conducted a bloodletting activity at the school’s cover gym on August 7.
Hernandez said the said blood donation activity is a project of the Criminology Department with the participation of the Philippine Red Cross and the Bureau of Fire Protection.
In his welcome address, Hernandez thanked the students who donated blood, along with the officials of PRC, BFP, and the Department of Health.
About 250 Criminology students donated blood.
The bloodletting was also attended by PRC Administrator Nelia Cartujano, City Fire Marshal Lester Kenneth Gimotea, Dean Richard Eligua, and Dr. Charlie Robles of DOH.
Hernandez said he founded the school in 2004 to cater to the educational needs of his employees’ children. However, he was able to expand the school by constructing several campuses in Roxas Avenue to accommodate more students.
Hernandez said the Hercor College Criminology Department has the fifth highest passing percentage in the board examination nationwide.
Its Hotel and Restaurant Management Department also excels as several of its students have already gone abroad for on-the-job training, particularly in the US
and Singapore.
“We have the lowest tuition which has not increased for the last six years,” Hernandez said.
The Hercor College founder said the school offers quality education for less to make it affordable for poor students.
Aside from Criminology and HRM, the school also offers degrees in Computer Science, Education, Business Administration, among others.
Hercor College will celebrate its foundation anniversary on August 30.
