Telco services boost growth of new wave cities in WV
Two highly urbanized cities in Western Visayas were highly ranked recently as best 2010 Next Wave Cities for outsourcing in the Philippines in the Information Technology-Business Process Outsourcing (IT-BPO) industries.
The Business Processing Association of the Philippines, Commission on Information and Communications Technology, and Department of Trade and Industry announced the spread the growth and benefits of the IT-BPO industry in terms of more employment, higher incomes and increased economic activity, as well as ease salary and rental pressures to support its continued expansion.
Bacolod was ranked third and Iloilo, fourth, while Davao topped the list closely followed by Sta. Rosa in Laguna. Others ranked as next wave cities are Metro Cavite, Lipa, Cagayan de Oro, Malolos, Baguio and Dumaguete.
Angeles-Clark progressed from the list of Next Wave Cities to join the likes of Metro Manila and Metro Cebu as established IT-BPO locations.

The BPAP said they follow a scorecard ranking that weighs the availability of talent, infrastructure, cost and business environment.
