ICPO director needed–mayor
Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog said the Iloilo City Police Office needs a full-fledged director who could fully exercise his functions, not just an officer-in-charge.
The names of the five recommendees were already forwarded by police regional director, Chief Supt. Samuel Pagdilao, to Mabilog.
ICPO officer-in-charge Senior Supt. Dennis Basngi is also in the list along with Senior Supt. Marietto Valerio, Senior Supt. Ricardo Dela Paz, Senior Supt. Orlando Ualat, and Senior Supt. Manuel Cubillo.
The recommendees were determined by the Senior Officers Placement and Promotion Board of the Philippine National Police National Headquarters.
Mabilog will have the last say on who will be named as the next city police director.
Basngi replaced Senior Supt. Melvin Mongcal after the latter took a sick leave before the May 10 national and local elections.*MGC
