Sex Education leads to pornography
The plan of the Department of Education to teach sex in our schools is pregnant with dangers leading to pornography. Why?
By nature, children are very inquisitive. This is so because, they had no past experiences. They want to know more and more about the world. That’s why they always ask what, when, where, how and why?
Once we teach sex in elementary schools, on the topic of the conception of a child, the children, by nature, would then be asking how? How can the teacher answer this question? He/she would be forced to describe the sexual act, which is pornography – pure and simple.
Next, knowing this, the child would be lured to experiment on this. When this happens, there will even be more unwanted pregnancies and more population growth instead of slowing down population growth – as claimed by the proponents of sex education.
Certainly, our society will be at its nadir of morality. A very catastrophic spiritual plenomena – swimming in sin.
If sex is to be taught at all, it must be in college where the students are mature enough to receive it – but not in the elementary and secondary schools.
A few days ago, somebody in New York would want the Philippines to decriminalize abortion. It seems that there is a certain sector in the United States aiming to destroy morality and spirituality in our society in the name of liberty. They started with agitating for divorce to “liberate” women. But as experience showed, divorce even enslaved women in sin. There is also the lobby for the use of contraceptives which we denounced in a previous column.
Let us be vigilant of these trends – dictation from the United States – the habitat of materialism in the disguise of freedom. Freedom is not the right to do anything. It has its limits otherwise, it becomes unbridled license.*

REVIVE ROTC
Where can you find in the world any country destroying its own reserve army? Only in the Phillippines. This it did by abolishing the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) in college.
Even peaceful Switzerland has one of the best reserve forces in the world. The annual active duty training of its reservists is a must for almost every Swiss. Switzerland is financially a rich country but why did Hitler not attack it during World War II.
Because Switzerland had almost a million reservists trained as sharp shooters. In case of war, if one Swiss kills only one German, the German casualty will already be one million!
Another country is Israel – the only country which conducts annual active duty training of all able bodied citizens – both men and women. This enabled Israel to fight successfully against the Arab nations around it with 40 times its population. Still another example is Vietnam. Even powerful America could not defeat her. Its big neighbor China is even careful of her.
Being a democracy, we have a small standing army. So, in case of war, we rely much on our reservists. This was proved during World War II when almost 80 percent of our soldiers were reservists armed mostly by ROTC. They were the 10 infantry divisions from the 10 Military Districts spread all over the Philippines. The Panay contribution was the 61st Infantry Divison which sent the 61st and Infantry Regiments to Mindanao.
Our guerilla forces in Panay consisted mainly of the 63rd, 64th, 65th and 66th Infantry Regiments – 90 percent reservists from all walks of life and whose officers consisting 65 percent ROTC cadets from the Colegio de San Agustin, Central Philippine College and the Iloilo Trade School.*
