Besa elected vice chair of PBMLP
ROXAS CITY – Capiz First District Board Member Jonathan Besa was elected vice chairman of the Provincial Board Members League of the Philippines-Western Visayas during the election held in Iloilo City last week.
Besa ran unopposed as his colleague from Capiz, Board Member Emilie Ardivilla, withdrew from the race.
Ardivilla said in a radio interview that she backed out because she wanted the provincial board members of Capiz to unite.
However, reports said she withdrew from the race after learning that she has no support from board members of other provinces.
For his part, Besa said he ran after he was assured of support by Liberal Party-allied board members from other provinces.
Ardivilla is a member of Lakas/Ugyon Kita Capiz headed by former 2nd District Rep. Fredenil Castro and former Agriculture Undersecretary Jocelyn “Jocjoc” Bolante.*
