Capiz prepares for PhilHealth registration
ROXAS CITY – The province of Capiz will join the nationwide registration for health insurance on October 2.
Philippine Health Insurance Corp. Capiz provincial head Joe Frederick Diaz said several activities in partnership with other agencies here are being prepared for the launching of the Nationwide Philhealth Registration Day.
Diaz said the October 2 PhilHealth Sabado aims to ensure that all the Filipinos have health insurance to have access to quality health services for the members and their dependents.
An inter-agency meeting with the core group lead by Capiz PhilHealth was already held to finalize all the activities for the event.
The core group is composed of representatives from the Department of Health, Provincial Health Office, Department of the Interior and Local Government, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Office of the Governor, Provincial and City Social Welfare and Development Offices and Provincial Press Bureau.
The launching activities will include a motorcade around Roxas City and a program at the Hall of Governors that will be highlighted by the distribution of PhilHealth Identification Cards to indigents based on the National Household Targeting System of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on October 2, the PhilHealth employees will also conduct a registration, particularly of non-members yet.
In addition, the different partner agencies will also display a photo exhibit of their services.
Diaz said the nationwide event is a jump off activity for an intensified and massive advocacy on the benefits of becoming a PhilHealth member and enrollment of non-members especially those in the informal sector.
Accordingly, PhilHealth Sabado aims to fulfill a universal health insurance coverage within three years as promised in the first State of the Nation Address of President Benigno Simeon Aquino III.*PIA
