A Cruise to the ‘80s
Showcase of Ian Jorda’s hablon collection
Ian Jorda, one of Iloilo City’s young designers wowed Ilonggos when he opened the 3rd Indigenous Fiber Fashion Week at SM City Iloilo with his fabulous collection.
Jorda, who used to be a seafarer, was inspired by the fashion shows he witnessed in Europe, thus he presented designs that were fit for cruising and 80s luxury wear with futuristic bondage detailing. Girly bondage, that is.
He used fabrics such as hablon, duchess satin, organza, chiffon and velvet.
His presentation was one of the six fashion shows held in connection with the 3rd Indigenous Fiber Fashion Week, a celebration of Visayan indigenous crafts and hand-loomed textiles.
The show was directed by Bombette Marin.
Beside the activity center where the shows were held was an exhibit of bags, hats and cloth made of indigenous materials that were created by weavers of the Province of Iloilo.
