Several suspects linked to Tan murder
The Iloilo City Police Office is hoping to solve the murder cases of businesswoman Rose Tan and her househelp before the two-week deadline set by Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog.
“We are working on it,” Senior Supt. Dennis Basngi, city police director, said.
The Task Force Rose head, Chief Insp. Orly Gabinete, said several suspects have been linked to the crime based on the pieces of circumstantial evidence they have gathered but they cannot divulge their names yet.
More witnesses have come out to testify but police investigators are still looking for vital evidence that could pin them down, he said.
Gabinete said until now they could not still establish the place where the victims were killed.
Tan’s decomposing body was found under the bed of Room 138 of Queen’s Court Drive-In Hotel in Mandurriao, Iloilo City on October 13.
A day earlier, the body of Tan’s househelp Ma. Purificacion Catoera was found inside a sack by the roadside of Brgy. Dacutan, Dumangas.
Gabinete said they are looking at “business transaction” as the possible motive of the crime, adding that the suspects know the victims.*
