UI-PHINMA’S Gawad Dunong
The University of Iloilo-PHINMA launched Programang Gawad Dunong, an initiative that recognizes the value of public school teachers. This program was launched in a festive occasion at the SM Cinema recently. Public school teachers were invited for cocktails prior to the program. They were treated to a tribal performance as well as sumptuous hors d’eouvres.
“By giving teachers the recognition of their community, we hope to instill value for education in the locale, and inspire yet other individuals in the art of teaching, whether they be managers or parents, to strive for excellence and integrity in their profession. Altogether, Programang Gawad Dunong is the PHINMA Education Network’s tribute to the heart and soul of education,” goes UI-PEN’S statement released to the media.
The screening of nominees will be from January 17, 2011 to February 25, 2011. Letters of notification to be given to final candidates on March 1, 2011.
