Chocolate Festival at Tinapayan
Tinapayan, home of fresh, delicious and healthy breads, pastries and cakes, holds a yearly Chocolate Festival during October. In the previous years, dresses made of chocolate were brought to Iloilo and displayed at Tinapayan, The Atrium. This year, the celebration was different. Evelyn Que, owner of Tinapayan, decided to hold a cake decorating contest that involved 12 teams comprising of Hotel and Restaurant Management students. Tinapayan provided the cakes and the teams were left to decorate them. The criteria for judging were: Preparation of cake and cleanliness of work station, extent of usage of Tulip chocolate, presentation and general impression and technique and degree of difficulty.
The judges were May Chua, Maridel Uygongco, Grace Locsin, Emmerson Lim and Suzette de Sello, all food experts.
The champion received P10,000 and a trophy, first runner-up received P6,000 and a trophy, second runner-up received P4,000 and a trophy and the Shopper’s Choice got an overnight stay at The Atrium.
The contest was not the only treat that Tinapayan gave the Ilonggos. Every Chocolate Festival, Tinapayan creates new exciting chocolate cakes and breads every week for the month of October.
So, for next year’s Chocolate Festival, expect something more treats from Tinapayan.
