Westbridge bags first PRISAA football title
The PAREF Westbridge School defeated St. Vincent Ferrer Seminary, 5-1, to win its first-ever championship crown in the Iloilo Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA)’s secondary football recently.
Central defender Miko Tirador said maintaining possessions, playing offensively, and team work were the keys to their victory.
Before reaching the finals Westbridge won against Iloilo Central Commercial High School, 11-0; Angelicum School, 3-0; and Central Philippine University, 5-0.
Westbridge’s five goals were courtesy of midfielder Irvin Jan Terazona, striker/midfielder Renz Richard Portigo, striker Justine Terazona, and midfielder Ram Pama.
The Westbridge Football Team is composed of freshmen Paolo Divinagracia, right winger; Renz Richard Portigo, striker/defensive midfielder; Migui Chavez, left winger; Carlo Dalisay, left winger; Lord Irvin Jimena, right winger; Hans Valderama, right-back defender; and Michael Inocencio, left-back defender; sophomores Justine Terazona, striker/right winger; Irvin Jan Terazona, central midfielder; and Francis William Inocencio, central defender; and juniors James Anas, central defender; Ram Pama, central midfielder; Miguel Luis Tirador, central defender; Jose Delfin II, goal keeper; and Paul Jeremy Tingson, striker.
Renz Richard Portigo, Miguel Luis Tirador, and Irvin Jan Terazona are members of the Philippine football team that competed in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Under-14 Festival of Football South East Asia Region from June 2 to 6, 2010 in Malaysia.*
