Service to God Almighty
As a result of the existence of God’s Power Fellowship which came into existence in 1987, many unbelievers were ushered to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. The fellowship started at Amigo Terrace Hotel when then the charismatic movement was on its high gear. It was the year when thousands of people in Iloilo hunger for Holy Trinity, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Seasoned charismatic preacher from Metro Manila and America including New Zealand sow the seed of the charismatic movement in the city. Then well-known manager of SM Shoemart Jerry Luzurriaga at Valeria actively involve himself in the service of Jesus Christ that hundreds of thirsty-unbelievers gave themselves to God. Evening time at Amigo on weekday and weekend was like a galore of divine services where numbers of charismatic services were held.
God’s Power Fellowship then was a neophyte church and Pastor Jose Daganan thought it is wise to make the Thursday evening service as a non-denominational Christian service. People who do not believe in Almighty God decided to join the God’s Power Fellowship. The noon Bible study was even held at the National Statistic Office at Plaza Libertad and again many employees from nearby government offices trooped to NSO to hear the Word of God. Pastor Daganan, Dr. Mila Dignadice, Dr. Florencia Reyes Baban, Pastor Dely Pendon, and many other took turns in teaching that “if Bible study is being held in government offices and heads of offices will attend the study, graft and corruption in the government will be stopped if not minimized.”
Present-day government executives and business leaders are encouraged to hold Bible study in their office at noontime or after office hours in the afternoon to teach employees and executives the fear in God. If employees fear God they will be afraid to steal the people’s money and wealth. Since majority of government employee and executives are Catholics, Roman Catholic churches should encourage the holding of Bible study in private and in government offices. Today is a precious time, since men are lovers of themselves and easily commit heinous crimes and other mortal sins.
The road to eternal life is narrow but the road to destruction and lake of fire is wide. Jesus Christ is correct when He said this passage in the Bible. Today, more more than 2 billion people are ignorant of God; or do not know God. Due to intensive charismatic movement and active church services in America, Europe, South Korea, Philippines, Australia and other Christian countries, the numbers on non-Christian people have been reduced to about billion.
Let’s continue to preach God’s word in every nook and corner of the earth so that Jesus Christ’s coming will be hastened. Praise God to the faithful believers of God’s Power Fellowship holding services every Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at the YMCA Ecumenism Hall, Iznart Street, Iloilo City.
