KLT passers must submit medical certificate: POEA
The passers of the Korean Language Test have been reminded to submit their fit-to-work medical certificate to be included in the list of jobseekers under the Employment Permit System-Korea.
Philippine Overseas Employment Administration 6 Officer-in-Charge Rhea Glynda Calantas said the medical certificate should come from any clinic accredited by the Department of Health.
Korean employers hire or select Filipino workers based on the EPS-Korea list of jobseekers.
Calantas said out of the 10,262 Filipino applicants some 4, 744 passed the KLT or now known as Test of Proficiency in Korean language conducted last November 14 in Manila, Baguio City, Cebu City, and Davao City.
Names of successful examinees who scored 80 points and above are posted in the POEA website www.poea.gov.ph and the EPS Korea website www.eps.go.kr/ph.
However, with the current situation in Korea, Calantas advised jobseekers to monitor any government’s announcements especially on deployment of workers to the area although as of press time, no ban has been issued.
Earlier, President Benigno Aquino has directed concerned agencies to ensure the safety of Filipinos in the Korean Peninsula due to the rising tension with the recent artillery attack by North Korea on South Korea.*PIA
