Young man found dead
A young man believed to be a member of the notorious True Brown Style 13 gang was found dead early morning yesterday near the old Iloilo airport in Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
The victim was identified as Manuel Roquero of Brgy. Kasing-kasing, Molo district.
Senior Insp. Rio Maymay, chief of Mandurriao Police Station, said the victim has 13 bullet wounds on his back, eight on his head, and one each on both arms.
The victim is believed to be between 20 and 25 years old, and a member of TBS 13 because of the tattoo etched on his left arm. Emblazoned with three stars, the tattoo resembled that of the TBS 13 identity.
The young man’s body was found at around 5:45 a.m. by a man who was biking in the area.
When the police responded, they did not find anything from the victim’s body that could suggest his identity.
The policemen instead recovered several spent shells and live ammunition of a caliber .45 pistol near his body.
Yesterday noon, a woman called the police station to ask for details about the victim.
The woman claimed that her son was abducted Sunday evening.
For his part, Maymay said they could not yet confirm if the victim is indeed a member of the TBS 13 that gained notoriety after owning to robberies and killings of taxi drivers.
Composed of out-of-school youths, the gang imposes robbing and killing of cabbies as part of their initiation rites.*
