5 groups receive P1.439-M livelihood aid from DOLE
The Department of Labor and Employment 6 released P1,439,936 in livelihood assistance to five groups in Iloilo and Guimaras during the ceremony held as part of the 77th year celebration of DOLE 6 Wednesday.
The Association of Disabled Persons in Iloilo received P127,750 for the skills training on cosmetology of their women members.
Labor Regional Director Manuel Roldan turned over the check to ADP-I president Juvy Ministros during the program.
Ministros said the funding assistance will be used for the training and purchase of kits of the beneficiaries.
“This support and assistance will be a great help to our members because this will be a source of livelihood for them,” Ministros said.
Other recipients of the livelihood fund assistance are the municipality of Bingawan, P258,450, for its organic fertilizer production project benefiting 60 individuals; Guimaras Province, P469,896, for purchase of starter kits for 63 individuals; and Carles Multi-Purpose Cooperative, P447,940, for its nata de coco processing project benefiting 50 individuals.
The Panay Sugarcane Producers MPC also received P135,900 for its skills training on cosmetology with 20 beneficiaries.
Roldan said the fund assistance is part of the continuing effort of the DOLE to provide livelihood opportunities to help increase productivity and improve the lives of the people.*PIA
