The United Architects of the Philippines-Iloilo Chapter (UAP), C' Galleria, and The Event Organizer are staging the much awaited three-month long architectural exhibit dubbed 'Seven Wonders of the World: A Pasticcio' at the 3rd level of Robinsons Place Iloilo (RBI). The exhibit features miniature replicas of the best architectural accomplishments known as the 'Seven Wonders of the World', namely, the Mysterious Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, Monumental Statue of Liberty in New York, the Magnificent Leaning Tower of Pisa, Paris, the impressive Eiffel Tower in France, the unconquerable Great Wall of China, the beauteous Taj Mahal in India and the Hanging Garden of Babylon.
A Pasticcio is also a concoction of scale multiple styles work of art and of the latest media presentation technology and the combination of both ancient and modern architectural accomplishments. Architects and architectural students made these models from different components of hard wood, G.I. wires to newspapers. All of which done in the most intricate detail of sculpting, architecture and installation. It is also an educational experience for students from primary to tertiary levels of the various schools in the region including Bacolod City. There will be a series of public lectures on the latest trends in urban planning and Filipino architects' role in the global arena and an architecture/construction exposition and free architectural consultancy by the best-in-town UAP architects.
This event is in collaboration with UAP-Iloilo Chapter led by its president Architect Wilfredo Sy, Jr., C' Galleria's Levy Salmon, Architect Johnny Liwanag and Milyn Leghid, The Event Organizer and UAP Student Auxiliary - USA Chapter with its President, Marian Gogil. It is also sponsored by RBI, R-Abenson Appliances with Syntax by Kolin, Boysen, the No. 1 Paint, GMA 6 TV & 93.5 Campus Radio, The News Today and Daily Informer.
The exhibit is also commendably endorsed by the Dept. of Education VI and Dept. of Tourism VI. Visit 'A Pasticcio' at the 3rd level of RBI from November 11, 2005 - January 20, 2006 and reminisce history.
